
The Norfolk Clarets is dedicated to enhancing the Masonic journey in Royal Arch Masonry, by engaging with and guiding its newer members, with the key aim of supporting their needs and continuing the enjoyment and having fun.
The Norfolk Clarets is a relatively new initiative launched at the Norfolk Provincial meeting in May 2025. A Norfolk Claret is a freemason who has been exalted and into a Norfolk Chapter within the last five years. It is similar, and operates in harmony to the Norfolk Blues, thus embodying the principle of “One Journey, One Organisation.
The objective of the Norfolk Clarets is to guide and support all Norfolk Companions in the in the first five year of them being exalted into the Royal Arch degree, by extending connections and increasing friendships across all our Chapters, with the key aim of continuing the enjoyment and having fun.
It provides you with a network of individuals who are on the same journey as yourself in the Royal Arch, with aim of making you feel like part of an organisation rather than navigate the Order on your own. A Norfolk Clarets Ambassador is assigned assist you on your journey in the Royal Arch, by coordinating visits to other Chapters or social events, and along with the Provincial network of Mentors, by providing educational items of interest within the Royal Arch.
It also the wish of the Provincial Executive team to ensure that you continue to enjoy their Masonry. Hence any ideas that would facilitate this for you, would be gratefully received and should be feed to the Provincial Grand Membership Officer or one of the Norfolk Clarets point of contacts – know as Norfolk Clarets Ambassadors.
Norfolk Clarets in automatic membership if you were exalted within the last fives years and you a member of a Norfolk Chapter. There are no costs involved in becoming a member of the Norfolk Clarets. You will be provided with a Norfolk Clarets lapel pin to identify you as a member, and this is supplied ‘free of charge’.
There are no costs involved in being a member of a Norfolk Clarets and you are free to get involved as much as you wish, either by participating with the group visits to other Chapters or other social events coordinated by the Norfolk Clarets Ambassadors. The only qualification on being a Norfolk Claret, is you were exaltation into the Royal Arch within the last five years and you a member of a Norfolk Chapter.
You automatically become a Norfolk Claret when you are exaltation into a Norfolk Chapter or if you were exalted within the last five years and a member of a Norfolk Chapter. If the later applies and you have not received any notification from the province on you being a member of the Norfolk Clarets, please reach out to one of the Norfolk Clarets point of contacts – know as Norfolk Clarets Ambassadors.
Like the Norfolk Blues all Claret members proudly wear a distinctive lapel pin. The lapel pin is provided free of charge at your exaltation, or at the earliest convenience if you were exalted before May 2025 and within five years of the current date. This provides quick and easy identify to other Norfolk Clarets in the Province, as well as the longer serving Royal Arch members.
